Reconciliation
Before anyone considers separation every effort should be made and every avenue explored to see if the difficulties in the marriage can be resolved. Difficulties and problems have a greater chance of being solved if the couple attend counselling at an early stage. The Counsellor helps the couple to clarify their particular situation, explore the possibilities and to plan their future.Accord

Mediation
Mediation is a process whereby with the assistance of a qualified Mediator a couple who have agreed in principle that they will live separately and apart from each other discuss and negotiate the terms of their separation in the presence of the Mediator and of each other. All issues are open for discussion including parenting the children, the family home, maintenance and money matters, property etc. If a couple through this process agree and reach an understanding with each other on the terms of their separation, this understanding must be incorporated into a legal Deed of Separation by an experienced Family Law Solicitor.Family Mediation Service

Children
How the children cope with their parents separation depends on various factors including their age, sex, personality, support structures, but primarily how the parents cope and relate to each other. How parents handle the conflict and how available they can be to support the children through their pain will, to a certain extent, determine their adjustment to the new situation. It is inevitable and necessary that children grieve. It is a normal reaction to loss and they have to be helped to adjust to the new family structure.Teen Between
